Bigbooté* has one simple mission: To rock harder than any other band, EVER. This is often outlined explicitly on stage. Before each show, the members of Bigbooté supposedly down several cups of coffee each, then explode into their theme song. To Bigbooté, every show is a rockenroll competition between all bands on the bill. According to the band, they've won every show so far.
|
A large part of the reason Bigbooté makes rock music the way they do is that all the members grew up and formed their first bands in Cortland, a small Central New York town effectively isolated from any major city. When Jason, Michael, Kevin, and Josh first discovered "punk rock," there was no scene to conform to and certainly no touring bands to emulate. They had to make it up based on second-hand tapes, photographs, and hearsay. Based on what they'd heard, they thought their shows should be uncapped insanity with no restrictions on musical style. .
| Of course, by the time the current Bigbooté line-up came together, the members had become aware of the reality of most punk and underground rock, (it being much less exciting than they had thought.) But by that point their course was set. Bigbooté was going to make rockenroll the way they had always assumed it should be made. |
